We are the largest pharmacy business in central Florida with two retail pharmacies, a compounding pharmacy, and a long-term care pharmacy. Our texting service Zipwhip was shutting down, plus it wasn’t HIPAA compliant, so we needed to find a new one.
We looked at Podium, but they seemed more oriented toward just marketing rather than two-way conversations. Text Request stood out as the platform we wanted to go with, because we could have unlimited users and everyone on our team could get their own account at no extra cost. We also couldn’t believe how much cheaper it was than our previous service provider.
We text our patients whenever their prescriptions are ready or we have questions about billing. Sometimes nurses from our long-term pharmacy will also text us when they need to refill medications.
Our team loves that we can have different lines for our different pharmacies. We can also choose between texting on the mobile app, desktop app, or a Chrome extension depending on our individual needs.
One feature we’ve been playing around with more is Keywords. Once a month, the street our business is on throws a big block party, and we’ll advertise that people can text us “SHOT” to receive quick flu vaccinations. After people text the keyword, we’ll send them a follow-up text once our nurse has their shot ready. It’s overall been a great tool to keep business flowing for us.
Even during our busiest month, Text Request is cheaper than our previous service. It’s a more robust and user friendly product overall, plus it receives regular updates to make its software even better.
In all my years of working IT, there are very few software that transition well and are easy to implement. Text Request is one of my favorite products I’ve ever worked with. It does everything it says it’ll do.
