Whether we’re caring for a snake, monkey, or guinea pig, our goal is to cater to our pet owners’ individual needs. We’re in an age where no one wants to talk on the phone anymore, to the point where some pet owners even refuse to make a call to schedule an appointment. Clients want to text us, so we needed to give them that option.
Texting with Text Request makes it faster for our staff to share updates on when medication is ready, or if a pet needs to be picked up. We’ve created Templates for our appointment confirmations and have started customizing them with Merge Fields. Pet owners pay more attention to messages when they see their and their pet’s name.
We’re able to provide pet care much faster, especially with tools like MMS. Pet owners just text us a picture or video of what their furry companion is experiencing. Clients will send pictures of a surgery site after a few days have passed to make sure it’s healing properly, or show us a video of how their pet is behaving. Text messaging is already a part of their daily lives, so they send us these pictures and videos without us having to ask.
Text Request keeps our phone lines open so we can get more done, plus gives us tons of useful features. They text-enabled our existing landline number, so no one had to save any new numbers on their phone. Plus the Autoresponder feature lets pet owners know we’ll get back to them as soon as regular business hours resume.
I see so many vet clinics in Facebook groups searching for a text messaging option after they’ve been let down by a vet-specific software that didn’t have all the messaging tools they needed. I always show them Text Request, because they’ve been so affordable and easy for us to use. Whether we’re on our computers or in the mobile app, everything we need is in front of us when we use Text Request.
