SMS Notifications: How to Never Miss a Text

You’re probably texting with people throughout the day, and the last thing you want is to miss a message from a customer wanting to buy or an employee needing help.

We’ve got you covered—just set up message notifications. Here are some options.

1. Inside of Text Request

Each user can customize their own notification settings.

The busier you are, the more important it is to make sure nothing slips through the cracks. When Text Request is pulled up in your browser, any new message will show up at the top of your Conversations Queue, you’ll get a sound alert telling you it’s there, and your browser tab will flash NEW MESSAGE.

From your profile settings you can customize:

  • Whether you want notifications at all

  • What sound plays when you get a new text

  • Which dashboard(s) you get notifications for

And frequency (how often the notification repeats until you resolve it)

Using our desktop app? You’ll get the same notification options and also have the option to turn on desktop notifications.

2. Through the Mobile App

You don’t have to be in front of a computer to get notifications.

Download our mobile app, and then you can take Text Request wherever work takes you—or get notifications around the clock if you’re into that.

These notifications are just like any other app that you can customize in your phone’s notification settings. Most people choose to have push notifications and the red badge notifications.

3. Use the Chrome Extension

Perfect for those who want to monitor messages throughout the workday without keeping an extra tab open.

Our Chrome Extension will show red badge notifications at the top of your browser, and also send you browser notifications at the bottom of your screen. This way, you can go on about your business and still see whenever a new message comes in.

You can also click on those notifications to open up the extension and respond to those messages directly—without going to textrequest.com.

Note: It’s called the Chrome extension because it was first made for the Chrome browser, but it also works on most other browsers, including Edge, Brave, and Opera.
