CHALLENGE

We needed to transfer all our message history, after Zipwhip announced it was shutting down.

The Bankruptcy Firm helps our clients file for bankruptcies and learn more about navigating court fees. This requires a lot of back-and-forth with our clients, many of whom only respond to text messages. Our clients specifically prefer texting because they can communicate with us while they’re still at work. To keep our texting compliant, we need a reliable way to save our message history and mark conversations as unread vs. read. 

We started by using Google Voice, but then later switched to Zipwhip until they announced they were shutting down. That was when we started researching alternatives, so we wouldn’t lose our message history.

APPROACH

We looked at all of Zipwhip’s recommended replacements, but Text Request stood out the most.

Out of all the Zipwhip’s recommended alternatives, we were sold on Text Request, because they were the only platform that could transfer our existing message history. That history is vital for documenting and reminding customers what we’ve already talked about—for both compliance and sanity reasons. 

Text Request is also the only Zipwhip replacement we found that facilitates conversational texts at the same high level as it does automated texts. Plus their search function is significantly better than Zipwhip’s. It’s now easier than ever to find contacts when we have questions that still need answering or documents that need to be completed.

RESULTS

Text Request transferred all our data over one weekend.

The switch to Text Request was so smooth, there wasn’t any downtime. We also were able to keep all the tools we previously relied on, so we could get back to messaging the way we did before. There was absolutely no stress involved, and our clients didn’t even notice the switch had taken place. 

Text Request integrates with Zapier, so we can automate a lot of our messaging. For example, whenever something gets filed in someone’s case, they automatically get a text to update them. These Zapier automations also make it easy to personalize our texts with things like the clients’ names, hearing dates and times, Zoom IDs, judge assignments, and email addresses. We’re able to connect Text Request with Mailparser, Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Clio, and more to streamline how we get updates out. 

Everybody texts, including our competitors. It’s an industry standard, and the only way we can get a hold of our clients. Text Request helped us keep that invaluable tool in our kit.
