SMS for 2024: How to Increase Sales Next Year

Texting is an easy yet powerful way to get someone’s attention.

You can (and should) apply that to your sales strategy. It may be the best thing you do for your revenue all year! Here are three ways to increase sales through text.

1. Text for Follow-ups

The fastest response wins the deal.

Whether you’re trying to create urgency, keep momentum going, reach prospects before your competitors do, or even just get a response, texting is a huge asset for closing sales. Increase your sales conversion rates by:

  • Sending an automated text when contacts fill out a lead form

  • Texting to schedule a call or meeting

  • Sending texts to get quick updates, stay top of mind, and keep the deal moving forward

Combine this with a good sales rep, and you’ll quickly see an impact on revenue.

2. Reminders & Renewals

Schedule more services and keep your existing customer contracts.

You probably won’t do this every day, but once a month or once a quarter, text your customers who are overdue for a service, and get them back on the books.

If you have a discount or holiday special, use that to get their attention. Either way:

  • Pull your list of overdue contacts from your CRM or other software

  • Upload that list to Text Request

  • Send them a text to schedule their next service

Have customer contracts that need to be renewed? Text to get a confirmation, signature, or payment info so you can keep that revenue and increase retention.

3. Promos for Repeat Purchases

You have loyal customers. Show them how to buy more.

Customers who’ve bought from you before or opted into marketing messages are primed to make more purchases. So, as you have new products or new deals worth sharing, text your previous customers and prompt them to buy again.

It’s unlikely they’ll want something new every week, but be sure to regularly promote your products and services. If you don’t, you can expect people to buy—and you want them to buy!
